Fountain Hills Friends of the Library
The Fountain Hills Library is a branch of the Maricopa County Library District (MCLD). It operates under the annual budget allocated to it by MCLD. The Friends of the Library funds items that are needed that cannot be funded under the annual budget. These funds are obtained through membership dues and donations as well as proceeds from the Friends Book Shop. Volunteers donate their time and support the various programs supported by the Friends.
Special Shredding Event
The popular shredding event sponsored by the Fountain Hills Friends of the Library will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 9 to 12 noon, in the Fountain Hills Branch Library parking lot at El Lago Boulevard and La Montana Drive. There is a four- box limit of documents per person and only soft cover folders can be shredded.
This service is available for residents of Fountain Hills, the Verde Communities and the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.
Student Designs Friends Logo
A new name, a new logo and a new website have been the focus of Fountain Hills Friends of the Library, formerly known as the Fountain Hills Library Association, for much of the last year. Cameron Ribail, who will be a senior at Fountain Hills High School this coming school year, has played a major role in making the new logo a reality.
One of the Friends' priorities is to encourage, challenge and support the young people of our community, through our local library, as they pursue and discover the future for themselves, their communities and the world. At the encouragement of the group's Student Director, Sara Koroli, the challenge of creating a new logo was given to the Graphic Design 2 class at the Fountain Hills High School.
Cameron Ribail, when presented with the challenge by his teacher, Bonnie Perkins, took up the project. Thanks, Cameron, for your creative work on behalf of Fountain Hills Friends of the Library.
